Public Health Scotland has developed a social media toolkit to raise awareness about the vaccines offered during pregnancy and to help expectant mothers understand the importance of vaccination.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) is an opportunity to raise awareness of breast screening. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Scottish women with one in nine developing the disease. Women are five times more likely to survive if it's caught in it's earliest stage. 

Public Health Scotland is working in collaboration with NHS Health Boards to gather important feedback on the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination programme in Scotland.

National Eye Health Week (23–29 September 2024) is an opportunity to raise awareness of diabetic eye screening (DES).

Social care staff who work directly with patients and provide support services are eligible for the flu and COVID-19 vaccines this year. It is recommended staff take up the offer of vaccination this year to protect themselves and those in their care.  

Health social care and social work staff who work directly with patients and provide support services are eligible for the flu and COVID-19 vaccines this year. Non-frontline NHS staff are also eligible for the flu vaccine. It is recommended staff take up the offer of vaccination this year to protect themselves and those in their care.  

Those who are eligible for their flu and COVID-19 vaccines this winter will be contacted from the middle of August.

In Scotland, all children and young people in primary and secondary school are offered the nasal (nose) spray flu vaccine.
