High levels of flu circulating this winter

This winter there have been high levels of flu circulating compared to previous years.

In response, Public Health Scotland (PHS) is reminding eligible individuals who have not yet received their free flu vaccine to get vaccinated before the vaccination offer ends on 31 March. Additionally, those eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to get vaccinated before the COVID-19 vaccination programme ends on 31 January.

Messages for the public

PHS has updated the social media toolkit that was distributed in December with new assets, including messaging around what everyone can do to keep themselves and others safe.

NHS inform has also been updated to include new information about the availability of vaccination appointments and drop-in clinics.

Messages for staff

PHS has also updated the social media toolkit that was distributed in September with new assets, reminding all health, social care and social work staff about the importance of getting vaccinated to help protect themselves and those that they care for.

Please regularly feed the social media assets into your planned activity using the hashtag #WinterVaccinesScot (using the campaign hashtag is important as it allows us to monitor usage, which informs future campaigns).

There are also a range of posters available. You can request printed versions by contacting phs.generalpublications@phs.scot
