Supporting this year’s Child Flu Vaccination Programme

As we prepare for this year's child flu vaccination programme, we would like to thank you for your continued support to help protect children and young people from flu.

To support nurseries, Public Health Scotland has a range of free resources available online to help staff, parents and carers access accurate information about the flu vaccine.

Resources available

    • Information leaflets for parents and carers
    • Resources in alternative formats and languages
    • Consent form guidance
    • Links to NHS inform for more information about flu and vaccination, including a video that demonstrates the nasal spray vaccination being given to a child.

The Child flu vaccine communications toolkit includes the following assets which can be used by all stakeholders:

  • Template to communicate directly with parents and carers
  • Links to videos

These resources can be downloaded from the PHS Marketing Resource CentreSocial media assets will continue to be updated throughout the programme. 

How nurseries can help

We would appreciate your support by:

  • Sharing information with parents and carers through your usual communication channels
  • Displaying posters in nursery settings where appropriate
  • Signposting families to trusted sources of information, including information in other formats and languages where appropriate for members of your community
  • Encouraging the prompt return of vaccination consent forms (where vaccinations are being delivered in nursery)
