Health and Social Care Worker Flu Vaccine Social Media Toolkit - October 2025
Last winter, Scotland experienced very high levels of flu, with more than 6,500 adults becoming so ill that they were admitted to hospital. Despite this surge, flu vaccine uptake among health and social care workers, who are considered an at-risk group, remained low.
Public Health Scotland has created this social media toolkit to help increase awareness of the flu vaccine for eligible staff.
Health and social care staff who work directly with patients and non-frontline NHS staff are eligible for the flu vaccine. It is recommended that staff take up the offer of vaccination to protect themselves and those in their care.
The social media assets and captions in this toolkit have been developed for you to use on your channels, and give you the option to add local information where appropriate.
