Flu vaccine campaign social media toolkit
Last winter, Scotland experienced very high levels of flu, with more than 6,500 adults becoming so ill that they were admitted to hospital.
To help raise awareness of the flu vaccine and encourage uptake, Public Health Scotland is launching a brand-new campaign titled ‘For some, flu hits harder’. This campaign focuses on the chaos and disruption that having flu can have on your life. It is also highly targeted, focusing on those most at risk as for them, flu hits harder. The campaign will feature on radio, paid social media, digital display and out of home. Printed resources will also support this activity.
A social media toolkit with assets and captions is available to download, so you can share on your channels. Email, newsletter and website copy is also available for internal and external communications.
These resources are embargoed until Noon on Monday 15 September when the campaign launches. Please do not share these assets in advance of this date and time.
Some people may also be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, and additional assets have been developed to reflect this offer.
We plan to develop additional resources throughout the programme, so please check back regularly as new assets will be added as soon as they are available.
All resources can be downloaded on the PHS Marketing Resource Centre.
Please regularly feed these social media assets into your planned activity using the hashtag #FluHitsHarder. Using the campaign hashtag is important as it allows us to monitor usage, which informs future campaigns.
