Getting the shingles vaccine is the one thing you can do to help protect yourself against the risk of shingles.
PHS’s Head of Immunisation and Vaccination, Dr Sam Ghebrehewet, visited the Eddlewood Vaccination Centre in NHS Lanarkshire yesterday to highlight the importance of coming forward for the shingles vaccination to those eligible.
Following the visit, we wanted to remind you of a range of resources which are available to help raise awareness of the shingles vaccine and explain the recent changes to the programme:
- An information sheet for healthcare professionals
- A flyer outlining the recent changes
- A digital display screen outlining the recent changes – for healthcare providers to use on digital screens, if available
- Two short videos:
- Get vaccinated and protect yourself from the risk of shingles
- Changes to the shingles vaccination programme
- Social media assets and captions
Please use these resources and/or forward to those in your network who may find these of interest. All resources for the shingles vaccination programme including the informed consent leaflet, posters and template letters are available at www.publichealthscotland.scot/shingles
