Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October 2025) presents a key opportunity to raise awareness of breast screening.

In Scotland, the NHS offers routine breast screening to women aged 50 to 70.

We have created a social media toolkit to promote awareness of breast screening. Resources can be downloaded on the PHS Marketing Resource Centre

As well as social media assets, you’ll find our new video ‘what to expect at your breast screening appointment’. This video is hosted on NHS Inform and can be downloaded via the PHS Marking Resource Centre for local use in waiting room areas or other appropriate settings. A short version of the video is available for use on social media.

‘What to expect’ video now available in other languages

The video is now also available in BSL, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Polish, Simplified Chinese and Ukrainian. These can be viewed on YouTube.

Please share these resources with any relevant channels or networks. If you are promoting on social media, please use the hashtag #BreastScreeningScot to help  us monitor and inform future campaigns.

Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you can also follow and share content from @BreastCancerNow and @BreastCancerUK. There is also more information including case studies available at getcheckedearly.org.

Your support is appreciated.
