AAA Screening Social Media Toolkit
Public Health Scotland released a report today which shows there has been a 13.5% increase in the number of men who received their abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening in the last year.
In Scotland, all men are invited to attend AAA screening when they turn 65. AAA screening looks for aneurysms to monitor or treat them. Treating an AAA greatly reduces the chance of it causing serious problems. In Scotland, more than 3 in 4 men eligible were tested in the last year. An aneurysm of any size was detected in only 1 in 100 men who attended their first appointment. Read the latest report here.
To help raise awareness of AAA screening, Public Health Scotland (PHS) has created a social media toolkit. All resources can be downloaded on the PHS Marketing Resource Centre.
Please regularly feed the social media assets into your planned activity using the hashtag #AAAScreeningScot. Using the hashtag is important as it allows us to monitor usage, which informs future campaigns.
